Young Minds Great Start Childcare Centre offers programs for children ages 3 months to 6 years old. From the crucial early formative years to the pre-teen, Montessori's educational programs prepare students with a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning and personal growth.

Infant Program

3 - 18 months

Full Time: 5 full days per week
Half Day: 5 half days per week

There is One (1) Teacher for every Three (3) children. One of the main goals of the Infant program is to foster the development of basic trust and to assist in the normal development of the personality. Learning, which leads to independence, occurs when the infants participate in their daily routines of care.

Toddler Program

18 months - 2.5 years

Full Time: 5 full days per week
Half Day: 5 half days per week
Part Time: 2 or 3 full days per week
Flex Time: 2 or 3.5 days per week

There are Two (2) Teachers for every Ten (10) children. The toddler program promotes mastery of self and environment, self-discipline, and social competence, as well as placing emphasis on the process rather than the product of learning.

Preschool (CASA) Program

2.5 - 6 years

Full Time: 5 full days per week
Half Day: 5 half days per week
Part Time: 2 or 3 full days per week
JK/SK Part Time: 5 full days every 2 weeks (on the off days from school)
Early Learning Program: 10 2.5 hour sessions every month

There are Two (2) Teachers for every Sixteen (16) children. This program allows the students to choose freely from the activities, with the teacher observing closely, and introducing new lessons when she feels the child is ready. The preschool program creates a miniature community in the classroom where children are responsible for their own behavior and learn to observe classroom rules necessary for a peaceful and harmonious coexistence.
