Young Minds Great Start is not simply a daycare centre...
It's education based!
Our staff hopes that all children are able to get the best start that they are able to in
life, and believes that a Montessori-based method of teaching does just that. The best time to
begin a child's learning process is during their early years, before they are ready to enter
the traditional school system. Between 2 1/2 to 3 years old a child's social and intelligent
characteristics are formed. Half of your child's mental development happens before the age
of 4. Children who are exposed to the Montessori curriculum at an early age are able to think
logically and to deal with everyday life situations.

Young Minds Great Start Childcare Centre is registered under the Ontario Day Nurseries Act, licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services (M.C.S.S) and is affiliated with American Montessori Society (A.M.S). All staff is highly trained and committed to professional excellence. Our school has been approved as a service provider for Green Shields benefits. We are also pleased to announce that subsidized spaces are available.
Mission Statement
Young Minds Great Start Childcare Centre is dedicated to creating a learning environment where
the children feel safe, respected and empowered to do anything that they put their minds to.
Our educational philosophy allows the development of respectful feelings of self and others,
order within the surroundings and also freedom of choice with limits. Our school's tranquil
and nurturing atmosphere encourages strong moral values as well as character development.
One of our main goals is to foster a love of learning, develop independence in daily
activities, and to build self-esteem in each and every child while preparing them for
elementary school.
Young Minds Great Start Childcare Centre curriculum is based on Maria Montessori's educational
philosophy to develop each child's individual abilities and maximize their learning
potential. We strive to foster an enthusiasm for learning and to stimulate the curiosity
of children through hands-on educational materials.
